چکیده

We present ArchE (Archaeological Editor), a system for processing and displaying archaeological data. ArchE checks these data for consistency, simpliies and displays them; for each of these steps ArchE ooers a number of diierent algorithms. The interactive features (eg input, data editing and modiication of the layout) are easy to handle. Furthermore , ArchE contains algorithms for focusing on user-deened aspects of the data. Apart from archaeological applications, ArchE can be used as a general graph drawing system.

META-HEURISTIC ALGORITHMS FOR MINIMIZING THE NUMBER OF CROSSING OF COMPLETE GRAPHS AND COMPLETE BIPARTITE GRAPHS

The minimum crossing number problem is among the oldest and most fundamental problems arising in the area of automatic graph drawing. In this paper, eight population-based meta-heuristic algorithms are utilized to tackle the minimum crossing number problem for two special types of graphs, namely complete graphs and complete bipartite graphs. A 2-page book drawing representation is employed for ...

Optimization of parameters of Anti lock Braking System for use in deep drawing

A new method for increasing LDR in deep drawing is application of anti-lock braking system (ABS) on blank holder. In this method, instead of applying a constant force on blank and control the metal flow, the ABS system holds and releases the blank several times (20 to 50 times) which results increasing LDR. This study investigates the effect of different parameters of ABS on improving the condi...

CREATUREs OF ThE bENEATh WORLd: hOPEWELL EFFiGiEs FROM TURNER MOUNd

At one time or another, I would imagine any student of Ohio archaeology has become fascinated with a particular artifact. This report basically is about that–it is a discussion of my own fascination with and curiosity over an unusual effigy pictured in Charles Willoughby's 1922 book Turner Mound Group of Earthworks Hamilton County, Ohio. This curious effigy is depicted in Willoughby's book as a...

Computer vision and machine learning for archaeology

Until now, computer vision and machine learning techniques barely contributed to the archaeological domain. The use of these techniques can support archaeologists in their assessment and classification of archaeological finds. The paper illustrates the use of computer vision techniques for archaeology with two examples: (1) a content-based image retrieval system for historical glass and (2) an ...
